It is May 1, 1855. Friedrich Stange, his family by his side, boards a ship in the Hamburg harbor bound for New York. There he will meet up with his son, Albert, who had already gone the year before. He wants to leave a country that can seemingly no longer offer him a future, and start a new life in America.
Does the story of your ancestors start like this? Have you ever wondered who they were, how they lived and how they might have felt? And why they left their homes and families?
I will write the story of your ancestors, based on your family lore, anecdotes and documents. I will also research various sources, from church registers and emigration directories, to geographical and historical works as well as contemporary chronicles and interviews with local people. The result will be a living image that brings you closer to your ancestors, making them unforgettable.
