I grew up in Germany and the U.S.A. Raised in the tradition of story telling, a custom which has been cultivated in our family for centuries, I began to become interested in the history of my ancestors as a child and started working with my own family’s genealogy as a 13 year old.
After legal studies and my career as a commercial in-house lawyer in Germany and Sweden, I decided to turn my hobby into a profession, studied Cultural Sciences, History and Literature and now work as a professional genealogist and genealogical story writer. I specialize in German immigration to North America, providing research in Germany and writing immigrant biographies for Americans with German ancestry.
I was a lecturer in “lmmigrant Letters” at the John-F.-Kennedy-lnstitute at the Free University, Berlin and at different genealogical societies in the U.S.A.
I live in Berlin, Germany, and am a member of the Genealogical Societies of Brandenburg, Mecklenburg, Pomerania, the Sacramento German Genealogy Society and the German Genealogy Group.
